To Diet or Not To Diet......

Today I passed one of my biggest tests.......

Ern and I went to Allen's Bakery for an early Sunday morning coffee. I ordered two coffees and ONE date scone for Ern. He said it was delicious (as are all their cakes). BUT I didn't mind in the least. It didn't worry me at all.

I have so much weight to lose and thanks to my sister Lynda and my Mum, I am on the Ultra Lite diet for 5 weeks. I am now in my second week and have lost around 5kgs already.

I feel so well..... Ern said I am more relaxed.

My One Skein Exchange Secret Pal lives in Colorado

Through Interweave Press I am participating in a One Skein Secret Exchange. The idea is that I send a skein (ball) to someone and another person sends me a skein. It's like a round-robin. This happens in June and the same in July. Then in August we send our Pal a small article made from one skein. The person I am sending to is Julia who lives in Colorado. Chrissy from Harlem New York sends me something.

I sent Julia a skein of Margaret Stove ultra fine merino wool. With it, I also sent her some lovely alpaca/silk in the brown tonings. The sheep card that I wrote on was made by Daphne, a very talented lady.

At the same time, I sent Chrissy in Harlem some lovely blue/green merino/silk top processed by First Editions in Euroa.

One Skein Secret Exchange Present:

My Secret Exchange Pal Chrissy lives in Harlem, New York. I received my parcel from her and contents were just lovely. The yarn is 100% Bamboo and is in a lovely blue/mauve tonings. Chrissy wrote on the Statue of Liberty postcard, that her yarn store has assured her that there is enough in the ball to knit a scarf. I have not seen this yarn before in Australia, so I am really excited about knitting with it.

Chrissy also sent a beautiful handmade mamboo box with 3 chocolates in it. The very day I received her parcel I had started on a very strict diet....so the chocolates will have to wait! Chrissy's box will always be a treasure to me.

Now This Is A Dog.....

This is Chloe. She is a 2 year old Border Collie/Kelpie X. She is a very affectionate, loyal and lovable dog. Her favourite toy is the yellow frisbie..... where-ever the frisbie is, Chloe will be sitting near it.

It's Not a Dog.....

No, its not a dog.... it's a lovely frisky sheep. As a spinner, I cannot help to think what I could spin from its lovely grey fleece. A grey fleece over-dyes wonderfully well and some lovely colours can be achieved.
